San Pedro de Burque’s collages boil with color, scribble, and grit, like automatic writing in paint and shredded images. Aggressive and textured, infused with graffiti and urban stenciling, his often-political concoctions can read multiple ways. Starting as glyphs, they move ultimately into the realm of coded agit-prop for a world populated by soldiery, monsters, and distortions.
